Cleveland Browns and NFL A.M. Links: ESPN's Mel Kiper likes Geno Smith for the Browns; Mike ...

More than likely, the Cleveland Browns will select Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner with the No. 6 overall pick, but ESPN's Mel Kiper says not to count out West Virginia QB Geno Smith.
Steve Doerschuk writes on CantonRep.com how Kiper says it might make more sense for the Browns to take Smith than to pounce on a highly-rated outside linebacker type. He suggested it would be wasteful to add defenders Ziggy Ansah or Dion Jordan to a team that recently signed free agent Paul Kruger and has a strong young player in Jabaal Sheard.
If the Browns opt not to spend a first-round pick on a quarterback for the third time in seven drafts, they might draft a quarterback with a later pick. Oklahoma’s Landry Jones is one to watch.
“He was considered at one point to be the next Sam Bradford (No. 1 overall pick in 2010),” Kiper said. “(Matt) Barkley’s performance leveled off (at USC). He’s got talent. He’s now considered a third- or fourth-round pick.”

Jeff Ireland: Dolphins have 'ammunition' to trade up

Speaking at his pre-draft news conference Thursday, Ireland acknowledged that nfl wholesale jerseys Miami needs to "add some talent on the offensive line." He called the addition of guard Lance Louis a depth move and said he was comfortable with Nate Garner at right tackle. Still, Ireland made it clear he'd like to upgrade the line.
Ireland was vague about whether Jonathan jerseys cheap Martin will slide into Jake Long's former role as Tannehill's blindside protector. He called Martin's offseason "important".
"He needs to be more consistent with some of the things that he's going to see nfl jerseys china going up against probably the best athlete per pound on the football field," Ireland said. "Right defensive end, right outside linebacker, you gotta be on your game playing left tackle in this league, so he just needs to improve his consistency."

NFL draft questions: When will Buffalo Bills take a QB?

It's still a matter of when, not if. Signing Kevin Kolb does not preclude the Bills from drafting a quarterback early. Kolb's reported contract can reach $13 million with incentives over two years, but his base salaries probably will cheap nfl jerseys from china be more reflective of a highly paid backup. A guy competing to start.
Tarvaris Jackson also remains on nfl jerseys wholesale the roster, but new coach Doug Marrone is going to draft a guy to develop. He'd be crazy not to. The only question is when.
First round: The Bills never seemed particularly likely to draft a nfl jerseys china quarterback with the No. 8 overall pick. There are plenty of questions about Geno Smith, and this draft class just doesn't have any true top-10 talent. Why take a promising question mark so high in the draft when the Bills can take a similar player in the second or third round?

2013 NFL Mock Draft: Post-Pro Days Analysis of Round 1

Manti Te'o solidified himself as a first-round draft pick in the 2013 cheap jerseys NFL draft with a strong performance at his pro day.
Jarvis Jones, on the other hand, saw his draft china nfl jerseys stock plummet after he showed up poorly at his pro day.
NFL scouts don't judge players solely on what they do at at the combine or nfl jersey wholesale at their pro days, but these events provide an excellent opportunity for players to stand out in a good way. Unfortunately, some players end up hurting themselves by showing up out of shape and/or by posting poor numbers in measurable drills.

Michael Huff, Baltimore Ravens reach 3-year contract

The Ravens announced Wednesday that they agreed to terms cheap nfl nike jerseys with former Oakland Raiders safety Michael Huff. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported the contract is a three-year deal worth $6 million.
The move makes a ton of sense. wholesale nfl jerseys Huff, 30, is a lot younger than Ed Reed. Huff also provides similar center-field ability and can line up at cornerback if necessary.
Huff, who also visited with the Dallas Cowboys, has played at a discount nfl jerseys high level for much of his career on the Raiders. (However, he has declined somewhat recently.) He might not be a difference-maker at this stage of his career, but he upgrades a very thin safety position for Baltimore. He's a smart, attacking player who often has been lost on awful defenses.

Time Has Never Been Better for a Gay NFL Player to Come Out

While the stigma of an openly gay athlete has long since passed in women's sports—thanks to the courage of women like Martina Navratilova a generation ago, Sheryl Swoopes nearly a decade ago and Megan Rapinoe today—we have yet to jersey online store witness an active player in men's professional team sports announce that he is gay.
That time will come, though, football jerseys and per a report from CBS scribe Mike Freeman, that time may be soon:
Based on interviews over the past several weeks with current and former players, I'm told that a current gay NFL player is strongly considering coming out publicly within the next few months —and after doing so, the player cheap nfl jerseys online would attempt to continue his career.
I'm told this player feels the time is now for someone to take this step.

Adam Jones agrees to contract with Cincinnati Bengals

After the free agency flurry calmed down, Jones was among our top 20 players still left in free agency. He did a very nice job as a return man and in coverage last season as a nickel cornerback. He's a role player, but he played discount nfl jerseys that role very well in 2012. We have to give Marvin Lewis and the Bengals organization credit for getting value out of Jones.
It wasn't so long ago that Dallas Cowboys Jerseys Jones was viewed as a lost cause. His off-the-field troubles were well documented, and his on-field play wasn't overly respected. The Bengals gave Jones another chance, and he has responded with solid veteran play. Just six cornerbacks from the 2005 draft currently are signed with a team, and Jones is one of them.
The Bengals have done a solid job retaining veterans Cheap Oakland Raiders Jerseys like Jones, Wallace Gilberry and franchise player Michael Johnson. The next target will be right tackle Andre Smith.

Brian Urlacher, Chicago Bears part after 13 years

After 13 years as the centerpiece of the team, Brian wholesale jerseys Urlacher and the Bears are parting ways.
"We were unable to reach an agreement with Brian, and both sides have decided to move forward," Bears general manager Phil Emery said in the team-issued statement. "Brian has been an elite china jerseysplayer in our league for over a decade. He showed great leadership and helped develop a winning culture over his time with the Bears. We appreciate all he has given our team, on and off the field. Brian will always be welcome as a member of the Bears."
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday on "NFL Total aaron rodgers jersey Access" that Urlacher's offer from the Bears was at or near the veteran minimum. Urlacher later told the Chicago Tribune that the Bears offered him a one-year, $2 million contract that he called an "ultimatum, not a negotiation."

Dashon Goldson, Bucs sign five-year, $41.25M contract

The Buccaneers later made the move official, cheap jerseys free shipping announcing in a press release that Goldson has signed his contract, which NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported is worth $8.25 million per year ($41.25 million total) with $22 million guaranteed.
Goldson never received the long-term offer he wanted from the San Francisco 49ers, which should make the Bucs a little worried. The 49ers even refused to place the franchise tag on Goldson this year, despite the Pro Bowl safety's versatile skill set.
Cheap Denver Broncos Jerseys
"I was very thankful I didn't get the franchise tag again, just so I could see my opportunities out there," Goldson said Wednesday, via The Associated Press. "I think this is the correct fit. I really truly believe that. It was time to go somewhere that really, really wanted me."

Geno Smith could take Ryan Fitzpatrick's place with Buffalo Bills

The Bills have been looking for a franchise quarterback since Jim Kelly retired following the 1996 campaign. Geno Smith might lack the pizzazz of Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III or Cam Newton, but his game is solid in every cheap jerseys wholesale respect. He is an efficient pocket passer with the arm talent to make all of the throws in a pro-style offense. Whether it's the deep comeback thrown from the hash to the opposite sideline or the go-route tossed down the boundary, Smith has shown he can make accurate passes with zip or touch. Additionally, he's shown he can throw comfortably from the pocket following traditional three-, five- and seven-step drops, or catch, reset and fire after fielding a shotgun snap. Some evaluators have pegged Smith, who produced at a phenomenal level while directing West Virginia's explosive spread offense, as a "system" player. However, I believe his game is versatile enough to fit into any scheme, with a few adaptations.
Nike Elite NFL Jerseys
Nike Game NFL Jerseys
New Bills coach Doug Marrone certainly is familiar with Smith's game from their days as Big East rivals; the former Syracuse coach led the Orange to a 3-0 record against Smith, including a 38-14 win in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl last season. Marrone can tweak his system to capitalize on Smith's ability to make accurate throws from the pocket or on the run. Smith's extensive experience directing a no-huddle offense at West Virginia could also jibe with Marrone's desire to push the pace in Buffalo. Smith understands how to process information quickly at the line of scrimmage in order to get his team running the best possible play on every snap. Furthermore, his familiarity with operating at a frenetic pace will allow him to capably lead an offense in transition in 2013.
